JSB and Zoex Europe in Riva del Garda

26-05-2016

Dear Reader,

Next week there will be the ISCC meeting in Riva Del Garda again. JSB is exhibiting and we would like to welcome you on our booth C8. Next to that we also participate actively in the scientific program and have a Vendor Seminar in stock for you. The Vendor seminar will be jointly organised with ZOEX Europe. Please see the itinerary here below:

Monday 15.40-16.00 - Scientific presentation.
Title: “ GC-HRMS and GC×GC-HRMS for the targeted and untargeted analysis of highly complex food matrices”. By Dr. Daniela Peroni

Since food matrices are often highly complex mixtures, the development of techniques suitable for their accurate characterization is of paramount importance. This lecture will demonstrate the advantages arising from the use of High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS) combined with GC and GC×GC for the analyses of the volatile fraction of mustard, olive oil and tea samples. GC-HRMS and even more so GC×GC-HRMS are shown to be very powerful profiling tools with remarkable flexibility and identification power.

Tuesday 15.45-16.45 - Zoex Europe Vendor Seminar.
Title: “ GC-HRMS and GC×GC-HRMS for the targeted and untargeted analysis of highly complex food matrices”. By Dr. Daniela Peroni

Nowadays, several different types of modulators are available. Each design has its own strengths and limitations. Selecting the right modulator for the target application is of critical importance because it’s the hearth of the GC×GC system and it can affect dramatically the quality of the results. This choice should be made taking into consideration the sample nature and the specific goals of the analysis. This seminar will provide an overview of thermal or flow-based modulators focusing on their individual features and application range.

Title:” Two major new features for GC Image R2.6” By Dr. Qingping Tao and Dr. Chase Heble of GC Image LLC.

Two major new features for GC Image R2.6, Dr. Qingping Tao on ion peak detection and Dr. Chase Heble on interactive tools for template matching (and interactive tools for blob detection).

Tuesday 18.45-20.00 – Agilent seminar
Title: “GC×GC-QTOF: tackling the identification challenges in complex matrices”.

During this presentation we present the advantages of using GC×GC-QTOF for the analyses of complex food and petrochemical samples. The great separation power and of GC×GC, coupled to the excellent resolution and mass accuracy of the QTOF, is shown to be an extremely powerful characterization tool for complex matrices.

Tuesday 15.20-16.50 - Poster (K27).
Title: “GC×GC-QTOF: a comprehensive approach to the identification challenges in complex food matrices”.

In this work we present the use of HS-SPME-GC×GC-QTOF for the analyses of volatiles in different food matrices. The great separation power of GC×GC, coupled to the excellent resolution and mass accuracy of the QTOF, is used to achieve in-depth characterization and is shown to grant unique identification power.

We certainly hope to meet you during the meeting in wonderful Riva Del Garda.
